iGrandmaster is a chess program for iPhone and iPod touch and
is developed by xenoon GmbH,
Timm Knape Softwaretechnik and

- 14th March 2009: PocketGrandmaster 4.1 released!
Most improvements over version 4.0 are changes to the FICS/ICC mode:
- New dialog to show and load previous games played on FICS/ICC (history).
- New dialog to display finger-notes of players.
- Integrated timeseal on FICS.
- More space in the Chat/console-window.
- A notification is shown when a chat-message comes in.
- New "Formula"-checkbox in the Seek-dialog.
- Draw/resign must be confirmed before sending it to the server.
- Bugfixes
- Playing with black on FICS didn't work for some customers.
- Starting games when one players Elo is below 1000 does work now.
- The clock now works correctly when playing games with slow timecontrols (>1h).
- Some minor bugfixes.
Other new features include:
- The "Replay" mode can now be used to let the engine play/finish a game
(autoplay).
- The coach shows the thread-move when warning.
- Highlight legal moves now shows unattacked squares.
- The super-strong chessengine Naum for PocketGrandmaster is available
from it's author.
- 9th December 2008: PocketGrandmaster 4.0 released!

square-screens. New: PocketGrandmaster 4.0
comes with a built-in FICS-
and ICC-client, so
you can play people from all over the world on two
of the most popular chess servers.

magazine's Best
Software Awards! It was the fifth victory since 2003 and the fourth
in a row.
- 20th November 2007: For the third time in a row PocketGrandmaster won Pocket PC
magazine's Best
Software Awards. It was the fourth victory since 2003.
- 21st October 2006: Yes, they did it again! PocketGrandmaster 3.0 was selected as
the Winner of the Smartphone & Pocket PC magazine's Best
Software Awards 2006 in the "Games: Chess Games" category. This is
PocketGrandmaster's third victory after 2005 and 2003.
- 8th March 2006: a new

- 5th November 2005:PocketGrandmaster 2.1 was selected as
the Winner of the Smartphone & Pocket PC magazine's Fifth Annual Best
Software Awards 2005 in the "Games: Chess Games" category. This is
PocketGrandmasters second victory after already finishing first in 2003.
- 20th September 2005: Dr. Axel Schumacher published a very
comprehensive
comparison of more than 60 PDA chess programs,
which lists PocketGrandmaster as Winner Pro for Pocket PCs.
- 27 July 2005: PocketGrandmaster and PocketGrandmaster
